Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY, born on 17 March the 17th of March, 1988) who is also known professionally as Grimes she is a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter, as well as a record producer. The early work of her is described as "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4which draws influences from hip-hop and electronic music, as well as rock. She often uses science fiction and feminist themes throughout her songs. There have been five albums. Grimes came from Vancouver and later moved to Montreal. Her first solo career in the late in the 2000s. In 2010, she dropped two albums on Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. After signing with 4AD the band gained popularity through Visions which is her third studio album. Visions contains the two singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and was awarded the Canadian music industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. Her fourth studio album Art Angels was released in the year 2015. The album received high marks from critics and many magazines voted it to be the top album. In the year 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes was also an actor and judge on Alter Ego's musical competitions performed as the vocalist in Cyberpunk 2077 which was released in the year 2020.
